The federal government will be opening this new laboratory in 1996. Two federal departments, namely Agriculture and Agri-Food and Health, will occupy the building marking the first time that two departments will study both human and animal disease under one roof. Some of the other unique features of the building, especially as they relate to containment, will also be discussed.
